When I make meals that are large I stretch them
into the next day's lunch. I almost always pack
hubby's lunch with leftovers. Whatever ls left after that
I then store in small containers. It's like I have
our own selection of Budget Gourmet meals stocked
in the freezer. Whenever there is a day that I do
not have leftovers from the previous night's supper
then that's when I dig into our single serve meals
for lunch.
-----------------------------------------------
Whenever making casseroles and soups I try to
double the batch. One half we eat for supper
while the other half goes into the freezer for another meal.
For example I made a large batch of scalloped potatoes
and a large pot of spaghetti. I'll put those
remaining leftovers in the freezer.
Some leftovers may not be big enough to make
a main meal from. You can now use them as side dishes instead.
So instead of having spaghetti as the main course
you can now serve it along side of pork chops
or another meat of choice.
------------------------------------------------
In a large butter bowl I add things from meals
that would otherwise have been thrown in the trash.
Let's say there was only 1/4 cup of corn left
or a couple tablespoons of gravy left from supper.
I spoon them into that butter bowl and store in the freezer.
Then another meal might roll around with a
half cup of macaroni and 1/4 cup green beans leftover.
Pull out that butter bowl and keep filling
it up with those tiny amount of leftovers.
I don't usually add leftover meat to those bowls.
Once full all these ingredients can be turned
into a soup chocked full of veggies, rice, pasta,
gravy and so on. Throw in a little meat
leftover from a supper, lets say a couple
pieces of chicken. Shred up the remaining chicken
and add to the bowl to make a yummy and filling
soup that's good on a cold Winter's day.

9:00am
Gas man just called and is on his way.
Hoping to get one of those electric meters
so they won't need to come back out
and read my meter anymore. What a pain it
is to have the gas meter in the basement
and not outside.
-------------------------------------------
"like" Crypton Home on Facebook
and then click on messy moments tag on the left
to get a free travel case (looks like zippered makeup bag).
Site is slow but I keep trying.
Limited to the first 5,000.
Good chance at getting it because I see
that their Facebook page only has 2,362 likes so far.
-------------------------------------------
9:30pm
Well crapolla, the gas man only read the meter
and told me I needed to call the company
and ask to have an electric meter installed.
Well, hmmmm, I did that yesterday and they
told me it was up to the meter reader
to install it. Don't ya just love the runaround
with these places. Neither one knows what
the other is doing or is supposed to do.
----------------------------------------------
Yesterday I posted about the cat scan being
almost $4,000 before insurance.
Well I got another bill for the technician
who gave the cat scan. Before insurance
was $405 and after I owe $31.34.
I need to be a cat scan technician at the
high rates they are billing people!
It took maybe 20 minutes to perform a cat scan
so that would mean over $1200 an hour if
you want to look at it that way.
Oh, they also put the techinician's name
which was obviously a foreign name and let me
tell ya, the lady who did it was an American white girl!
Nothing foreign about her.
And then there was a
facility service fee for $100 before insurance
and $9 after insurance.
What the heck is a facility service fee?
I gotta pay just to enter the hospital
and use their services?
I think they use all these technical doctor
and hospital terms just to confuse people!

3:00pm
Stopped by the library for the second day this
week to pick up reserved books. I now have 15 books
to go through and read. Think I'll grab a notebook
and start jotting down recipes and ideas from them
when I get the chance.
Tonight we're going to Groveport.
Tomorrow the flea market very early morning, weather permitting.
Then Tony has a doctor's appointment at 10am.
Sunday me and mom are going on a house tour.
There's an old farm house
on the corner of Westerville and Ferris Rd.
It has a for sale sign in the yard along
with another sign that says free house tour
on Sunday 2-5pm I think. Me and mom love looking
at old houses. She made the comment, make sure
to bring along your ghost hunting camera, LOL!
The house was built in 1890, is 3,704 sq. ft.
The same family has owned it since 1957,
and that's as far back as the records go on the house
at the auditor's site.

-----------------------------------------------------
8:30pm
Back from Groveport.
Stopped by Kroger in Gahanna for some kitty litter,
food and a couple bottles of pop for me.
I also found a couple manager specials.
Can of black beans .39 cents.
2 cans Hunts diced tomatoes .49 cents.
20 pound bag cat litter $1.79.

---------------------------------------------------
I already got a head start on planning my
grocery lists for next week.
So far I have $20 to spend at Meijer
(which included most of the items mentioned
above minus the candy bars and toilet paper,
might add a few more items depending up
what coupons come out this weekend)
and hopefully I'll get to Save-A-Lot
to spend another $20 there using the $5 coupon
and get a bunch of ground turkey along
with some other things like the basic
things such as milk.
A total of $40 for groceries for the next week.
I am actually looking forward to using
a bunch of coupons again to save tons of money.
I was so happy to have saved $43 at Kroger the other
day and it made me feel good that the cashier
and the guy customer behind me commented about how good I did.
I know I can do better but hey that's $43 saved!
That's like money saved to put toward another week
of grocery shopping.
I let my couponing slide over the Summer months
because it gets too hard with kids/family
in tow at the store. When I go shopping with
my mom then I can concentrate more on my shopping
and using coupons. Also less things that aren't
on my grocery list get thrown in the cart.
Usually the extra things I throw in the cart
on my shopping trip with mom are marked down
manager specials. Those things aren't planned
because you never know what you might find.

I know this video is a little late to post
considering today is the first day of Fall
but it will be something you'll remember
for next Summer. The lady is actually
fun to watch.
-------------------------------------------------
Ok, here ya go, one for the cooler weather
basically using the same technique.
I might just consider doing this!!
I could really do without listening
to "Passionate Pat" on this video, ahhh!

Layer the ingredients in the order given into a wide-mouth 1 quart canning jar. Pack each layer in place before adding the next ingredient. Mix and place the toppings in a small plastic bag. Place the packet on top of the pasta.

I don't have much money for Christmas this year
so are turning towards doing online surveys to help out.
Start early in the year because it may take you all year to gather
points to cash out but anything can help when you
don't have much to start with and hey it's all free
for a couple moments of your time to do surveys!
No, you don't get rich off online surveys but
it's better than nothing.
I just cashed in one of my survey site points today.
I did it now because it can take up to 2 months
to get a check. I had accumulated $114 so that
will help go towards Christmas gifts.
Still working towards another $25 gift card to
Gamestop for a total of $100 in gift cards.
I already have the points to do it but they only
allow you to get that reward every four months.
Plus another survey site I do I've accumulated
$77.
And Tony gets a free $100 visa card from work.
So I think I've done pretty good for trying
to round up FREE money to buy Christmas gifts with.
My saying is and always has been-
"Do what ya gotta do with what you have to do it with."
---------------------------------------------------------
9:30am
I called OSU Hospital and inquired about getting
a colonoscopy Monday with having a cold and possibly
bronchitis. They recommended that I reschedule
my appointment because of it. I told them
just to cancel it. I am also canceling my
appointment with the gastreonololgist.
I feel better with my irritable bowel syndrome
and have been taking my meds. My cat scan
came back normal. So I feel no need to keep
spending money that I don't have to be a guinea pig.
If I wasn't feeling better then I would consider it.
But at the moment I don't have a money tree growing
out in the yard to keep seeing doctor after doctor!
In this economy you choose to go to the doctor or
pay the bills to put food in your belly and a
roof over your head!!!
Instead I'm going to play doctor with myself.
I'm going to start taking a daily vitamin
and start watching my diet to see that I get
more foods with potassium in it. Plain and simple
and costs lots less than what a doctor would order!
Is it just me or has anyone else seen that once you
see a doctor for an ailment, the doctor likes to drag
that one thing out to many appointments lasting
for months. This is crazy. It's like they try
to get you hook, line and sinker and reel you in
for more and more visits. You have to draw the line
and say no more. You are the patient and you have
the right to say I don't want to be seen anymore
for something! You gotta know when to say when
or they'll keep lining their pockets with your money.
It's how they stay in business in my opinion.
Now if you are really sick or not
getting better then I suggest to keep going.
If my car was making a noise and that noise went
away and seemed to fix itself and was running fine
without problems then I'm not going to take it to
a mechanic who charges and arm and a leg to get
it looked it.
Ok, I'm done venting about doctors.

I have a stockpile of Cheerios cereal that
I've either gotten free or for around a buck.
The kids favor the honey nut cheerios
and don't seem to like the regular cheerios.
So I got to thinking about making my own
homemade honey cheerios.
In a large saucepan heat up 5-6 or so tablespoon of honey
(this can be found at Dollar Tree for a small bottle).
Stir in 9 cups or 8.9 ounce box of Cheerios for
3 minutes. I sprinkled a couple teaspoons of
cinnamon on the cereal while stirring.
Once coated remove from heat and place cheerios
onto a cookie sheet lined with tin foil or wax paper
Allow to dry then store in an air tight container.
Wallah, Cinnamon Honey Cheerios.
Use as a snack or a bowl of cereal with milk.

I've found a saying that I really like that applies to me-
Use it Up, Wear it Out, Make it Do, or Do Without!!

News Alert: Dow down -414 points; investors fear U.S., perhaps rest of world, headed for new recession.
News Alert: #Dow hits 489 point drop! Do you think it will hit 500 before the market close today?
News Alert: Dow crosses 500 pt. drop; drops nearly 520 points. How low do you think it will go?
Is the government saying we were out of the recession
to say we're heading for a new one
because I have a different opinion about that!
Bankruptcies, foreclosures and unemployment
are still on the rise. How is that out of a recession???!!!
And people wonder why I am trying to stockpile,
dehydrate and make my own things.
I'm telling you, the price of things are only
going to get higher and if you don't stockpile
and use coupons now to get the best deals
you are only going to pay more later on.
Do you have more? I don't have more!
Trying to do the best I can with what I have
or can get for free or cheap. Who knows how
long this recession will last or if it will
only get worse. While the government thought
it was obviously getting better I haven't seen
where it has changed much and I'm sure many
people would agree with me.
It should be called a depression instead
of recession because that's how I feel, depressed.
Going to affect everyone's 401K,

Microwave for 2-3 minutes or till popping
slows to about once per second.

I've never seen any Aldi coupons nor does
Aldis accept coupons unlike Save-A-Lot.

Want to hear something funny?
I got a disconnect notice for my gas.
Why? well it wasn't for nonpayment of
my bill because I pay that every month
on time. It's because they haven't been
able to get an actual meter read in awhile.
And yes I have called in my meter reading
several times but I guess that don't count.
My gas meter is in my basement, not
on the outside of the house with easy access.
I called the gas company to have a meter
reading done tomorrow so I don't get it
shut off. I also requested that they
put an electronic meter on so that I don't
have to go through this again and have to
worry about my gas getting shut off.
I'm hoping the electric gas meter will
work like the smart meter they put on
for our electric meter. It feeds back to the company
and tells them the usage instead of having
meter men/women come out and do readings.

8:05am
I really need to go through and get coupons cut out
and put into my binder. I've gotten behind and now
have a stack of them plus hubby brings home the sales
bag from work that he finds with coupons inserts with them.
Not a whole lot but it's better than nothing.
I need to get organized so I can find the bargains!
My ribs are hurting pretty good from coughing.
Feels like someone has kicked the crap outta me!
Day 3.5 of being sick. Sure hope it clears
up before the colonoscopy which I need to prep
for starting Sunday.

I am trying to work out a deal with my father-in-law.
When at the lake I heard him say he wanted to get
rid of his electric fireplace and get a new one
because it only works on low.
I mentioned to my father-in-law about some things
we found this year like the LCD tv. He knows it
doesn't power up when plugged in and was wanting
to know how much we wanted for it.
I told him I would trade it for the fireplace.
I haven't got an answer from him yet but
are hoping to make a deal! I could really use
the electric fire place to cut back on gas
heating costs over the winter!
This is what it looks like-

He says it has helped so much on their gas bill.
He only wants rid of it because it won't
run on high anymore, only on low.
Would love to get my hands on it!
-------------------------------------------------------
10:50am
I have spent the last hour and a half cutting coupons.
I got about half of them put away in the binder.
This is what I still have left to put away.
This is the part I don't like about couponing! Ahhhh!

----------------------------------------------------
10:55am
Hubby just called to say he found me a few more coupons.
Two coupons for $5 off $35 at Kroger
and one coupon for $2.00 off a deli item.
I guess he called his doctor's office back today
and got an appointment with another doctor for 4:15.
He can't hear out of his one ear. He had this problem
before and the doctor had to clean it out.
I tried last night to clean out his ear with
an over the counter product and it didn't seem to work.
----------------------------------------------------
1:15-2:15pm
Just got done getting all my coupons put
away and started working on a Kroger list
to see what kind of deals I could
come up with if I used a $5 off $35 purchase at Kroger.
So far I have a list of groceries worth $35
and with coupons it should be $17.
So an almost 50% savings.
That sure is better than my trip to Giant
Eagle with the $5 off $25 purchase.
I still spent almost $30 during that trip, grrr.
I really hadn't planned to do any more shopping
this week but the coupon that Tony found
expires Saturday. I've already spent $47
towards groceries already for the week.
Kinda hard to pass up
a $5 coupon which could mean free food.
I need to go pick up Christopher from
the bus stop soon then we are heading
over to the library. I have about
6 reserved books that came in and Christopher
wants to check out a few books.
------------------------------------------------------
3:30pm
Back home. There's nothing like having
a coughing fit in the library, so embarrassing!
I got 10 books I reserved.
Amazingly they were all there because
there's another person with my name who
reserves books also and does not look
at the names of the books and will
just pick mine and hers all up
and I go without my reserves.
I've complained about it before
when I got notice that my books were ready
for pick up and I got there and couldn't
find them.
Not sure what to have for supper.
I might make some grilled cheese sandwiches
and have leftover chicken noodle soup tonight.
Something easy.
----------------------------------------------------
8:00pm
Back from Kroger. Tony had to get two prescriptions-
antibiotic pills and ear drops. The doctor flushed
and cleaned out his ear and said he had a really bad
ear infection. Now get this, this doctor wants to
see him again Saturday at 10am. That seems a little
soon unless these are some miracle antibiotics
that work within 2 days. So there's $40 copay
for 2 visits and $11 for prescriptions for a total
of $51. Money just keeps flying out of here
left and right. The bank account keeps dropping
and gets skimpier by the day. The hole keeps
getting deeper and deeper.
I did round up a bunch of coupons to use at
Kroger tonight. The one coupon Tony found
for $5 off $35 at Kroger expires Saturday so
needed to use it or lose it.
I did pretty good trying to get back into
the swing of using coupons again.
My receipt says I saved 58% off my purchase
I spent $20 (not including Tony's presciptions)
and saved $43.78 by using manufacture coupons,
store coupons, sales, and saved $5 when I purchased
10 of certain products.
Almost $64 of stuff (more than that actually
because manager special savings aren't factored in)
for $20!
Not pictured is a bag of Crave cat treats I got free.
I got them so I could get the total up to
$35 to use my coupon. In the end it ended up
being free. Tony's going to give them to
his supervisor who has a cat.

2.88 pounds cajun chicken leg quarters $2.53
3.11 pounds sweet bourban chicken leg quarters $1.73
2 Hormel fully cooked bacon $1.90 each

2 pkgs (4 slices cream deli cake) .58 cents
2 jars Prego pasta sauce .92 cents each
3 yogurts .40 cents each
pkg diced ham .99 cents

4 cup pkg Kroger shredded cheese $3.29
2 bottles 7up & 2 bottles Sun Drop $1.56 for all 4

box of Cheerios
3 pkgs of 1 pound Oscar Mayer bologna .39 cents each
6 Snicker bars (1 missing from photo) $1.16 for all

Tony watched me with my list and coupons at the store.
He's my coupon holder. As I buy stuff I have
him hold a baggie and I hand him the coupons
for each item I put into the cart.
He says, you gonna be able to do this?
Guys always get nervous when it comes
to combining coupons and sales like it's some
kind of science trying to figure it all out.
He says, I'm glad you know what you are doing
as I've got my notebook open, looking over my list,
and adding prices up again just to be sure
it comes out to what it should be.
Now I couldn't imagine being one of those
people on Extreme Couponing trying to do
a $1000 grocery trip using coupons to get
it down to pennies. I'd be a nervous wreck
worrying about something going wrong,
not pricing right, coupons not scanning and so on.
I'm happy with getting $40 to $80 off my bill
and saving at least 50% off.
Well I'm heading to the bedroom. My shows are
about ready to come on here at 9:00pm,
Ghost Hunters and Paranormal Witness.
Time to relax after our shopping trip.
Oh I just saw on Discovery channel that
a new season of Storm Chasers is coming
on Sunday at 9:00pm. We all like that show.
It should be a good season for
them this year with all the tornado
outbreaks!

So there's $40 copay
for 2 visits and $11 for prescriptions for a total
of $51.
left and right.
It should be a good season for
them this year with all the tornado
outbreaks!

9-20-11
Here's my dehydrated potatoes I made yesterday.
I'd guess I did around 4-5 pounds and it
made 2 large canning jars.

The kids and Tony thought they were potato chips.
These potato slices are not something you
want to try and bite into as they are hard
as a rock and a little thicker than a potato chip.
---------------------------------------------------
8:00am
Had to run down to Speedway this morning which is
like only 2 minutes down the road. What a madhouse!
It took almost a half hour to go there
and come back, geesh! When you feel like crap
that's not the place to be! I noticed gas went down
some more. I think it was $3.23. It would be
nice to see it under $3.
I don't know what the deal is but you would
think with being sick and feeling like I'm
breathing fire I would be chilled. I have
the complete opposite. Last night and this
morning I was having hot flashes. I'm opening
up windows and have fans going full blast trying
to cool off. It's 64 outside and 74 in the house.
I should not feel this hot.
Well I gotta get the other kid ready and head
out to the bus stop soon. He has a field trip today
to Sharon Woods and needed a packed lunch.
Something he told me last minute so I didn't have
time to go to the store and had to throw something
together for him.
------------------------------------------------
8:10am
It's like I wasn't home for very long from Speedway
and Tony's calling me saying Christopher's school called him
and had been trying to call me at home. I didn't take
my cell phone with me for a trip just up the street.
So Tony was freaking out wondering where I was at
and why I wasn't answering my phones.
8:15am
The school finally did call me to say Christopher
wasn't feeling well and could I pick him up.
I was talking to them on the phone trying
to get Jonathan dressed and ready to go to school
at the same time.
So I got Jonathan to the bus stop by 8:25am
and after the bus got here had to go get Christopher
from school.
I am sick and am trying really hard to still
do stuff. I should be in bed! Got kids to get ready
for school, food to make, laundry to do, dishes to do,
a house that is going to hell, you name it. Lord, please give
me a break from all this madness and sickness because
I can only handle and do so much being sick myself.
I'd like just a teeny tiny break or
would like the energy to keep up with it all.
Tony tried to make a doctor's appointment yesterday
for his ailments only to find out his doctor
is on vacation for a week. So we have to wait another
week for him to be seen.
I'm tired of being sick and tired. This has been
the worst year for everyone being sick.
I feel like I'm losing my mind at times.
I'm coming back as a man in my next life!!!
They don't seem to stress as much as women do.
----------------------------------------------------------
Ok I needed a laugh and this t-shirt did it for me.
I saw this T-SHIRT posted on one of the frugal
blogs and had to share it with you, LOL!
----------------------------------------------------------
I think today, with all the sickies that's been going on,
I'm going to make chicken noodle soup.
I went through the pantry and freezer to see
what I could round up to make this soup.
Here's what I came up with-
box of fettuccine (broken up into smaller pieces)- free
2 jars homemade chicken broth- free
1/2 pound fresh carrots chopped up- .40 cents
bag of premade cooked chicken- .50 cents
(this was from where I found 10 pounds
chicken leg quarters for $2.79.)
1/2 of an onion finely chopped- free (leftover)
celery- don't have celery so will use
celery seed or celery salt- free
Can of cream of mushroom soup- free
can of chicken noodle soup- free
(for added flavor and to use up this
single can I have)

Did you miss last night's episode of
Two and a Half Men?
Click the above to watch it online!
It was ok. A little hard to follow.
Might need to watch a few more shows
to understand it more. I felt like
the show went too fast with it's story
and didn't do enough explaining as
to what had happened and Ashton's character
just abruptly comes on the scene
and makes himself comfortable for being
a stranger that shows up unexpectedly.
It was only a half hour show so that sucked.
I think it should have been a full hour
so it wasn't so crammed into a half hour show.
But it did say, to be continued.
It starts out at Charlie's funeral.
Rumors said Charlie would die by running
his car off a cliff but I hear Rose
say on the show that he fell onto a
subway track and got hit by a train.
I watch A LOT of That 70's Show every day!
It's hard for me to see Ashton on this show
compared to the other show. His hair on this
show drives me nuts! They need to cut that
crap off! Just doesn't seem to fit the character
who is supposed to be a billionaire.
He looks like a bum.
Did I miss some newer shows?
When did Charlie and Rose decide
to run off and get married???
I thought he wanted to marry Chelsea.
Oh well, I'll have to keep watching
to help from being confused so much.

mix 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules
into a cup of hot water.
I needed a substitute because what I thought

to be vegetable broth.

Just finished making my chicken noodle soup.
I used chicken bouillon for broth
and made 4 cups of that for soup base.
I cooked the pasta in the vegetable
broth and reserved 2-3 cups to use for the
soup base. I chopped up the carrots
and onions in the blender. I added
garlic powder, basil and celery salt
in the broth along with all the ingredients
I listed earlier. I didn't end up using
all the chicken I had so that will go
towards another meal.
The soup should be loaded with all kinds of vitamins
to help colds. I've been giving the kids
gummy vitamins every day to help also.

Here's something I found that I put on my wish list.
It's a vinyl, removable wall art.
I thought it was pretty cool and
different. I like to be different and this
is something I have yet to find in any house I've
been in. I have a large wall in my living and dining room
and thought a large decal would look cool on it.
But at like I said it's only a wish list item.
The decals come in all different shapes, designs,
sizes and colors. I was thinking a white or
tan/brown color for my wall which is a suede.

Ok I'm done daydreaming, lol!

8:00pm
Had to make a run to Kroger tonight.
I was out of pop, milk, bread and almost
out of toilet paper due to using it as
nose tissue.
While out at the truck loading groceries
Jonathan spots a cart in the cart corral
that had a 12 pack of coke in it.
I thought it was an empty box but
Christopher went over and discovered
it wasn't. Free 12 pack pop, woo hoo.
Downside to it, it wasn't diet.
I have 12 packs (cherry 7up antioxidant) and 2 liter bottles of
sun drop pop in my pantry that isn't diet.
I'm willing to trade someone for some
diet pop or other things. I don't like
giving my kids regular pop and me and Tony
don't drink it either. I tried not long ago
to drink regular pop thinking the diet pop
was what might be giving me diarrhea.
It was awful because I was so used to diet.

Head is all stopped up. Blowing nose, sneezing,
when I cough it hurts. Tony still has what appears
to be a sinus problem with congestion, ears clogged
drippy nose and coughing. He says he's going to make

The good news is Jonathan doesn't seem to be coughing
like he was and Christopher's nose stopped running.
I can't catch a break! If one ain't sick someone
else is. And to think Winter isn't far off to have

10:40am
In severe pain at the moment. Was walking from kitchen
to dining room and my sock and pants somehow got
twisted up causing my big toe to bend under my foot
as I was walking and I walked down onto my big toe.
Major pain and throbbing! It was either come down
on my big toe or trip and fall down. Tried walking
it off and was like walking in circles around
the house after it happened. Can't anything go right??!!
Anyways I just got done getting about 8 trays
of potatoes in the dehydrator. I'm going to guess
about 4 pounds of potatoes. I had a 5 pound bag
that had about 2/3rds of a bag left and I pulled
about 4 potatoes out of one of the 10 pound bags.
To extend some of my trays I found some plastic
canvas sheets to use. I traced the fruit roll up
tray from the dehydrator onto the canvas and cut it out.

Peel and slice up potatoes.

Bring a large pot of water with salt to a boil.
Place potatoes in a strainer in the pot.
Wait til water returns to a boil and time for 5 minutes.
This removes some starch from the potatoes
(the foam you will see on top of water)
and keep the potatoes from turning brown or black
when dehydrating.

Remove potatoes from pot and dump into a large bowl
of ice water. Allow to sit in ice water until cooled off.

Next I removed them from the water with hands or a
slotted spoon and onto a towel to drain off excess water.
Then place in single layers on dehydrator trays.
You can see here where I put a piece of plastic
canvas over top of one of the existing trays
with potato slices.

OK well it's almost 11:00am.
I am hacking crap up, coughing, blowing my nose
and feel like I'm breathing fire. I took
a couple Tylenol and are waiting for them to kick in.
I might go lay down now.
See mom's don't get a break. I feel like
the walking dead and look like it too with
the limp from my injured toe.
Will check back on the potatoes after bit
to see how they are coming along.
They will probably take all day to dry.

2:55pm
I've been noticing since this morning, that
the truck is making a weird noise under the hood.
So this afternoon I pop the hood in the pouring
down rain, and look for the noise which could be
heard over top the radio and heater in the
in the cab of the truck. To me it sounds as though the
bearings are going out on the alternator causing the noise.
Great, another thing to have to buy with a limited
budget. At least we should be able to put it on ourselves.
I see alternators in the price range of
$80 to $160 for our truck, yowzer. Let's
hope they have the cheaper one and it would work.
When it rains it pours.
Don't ya just love that you can find just about
anything on YouTube! I know hubby could probably
do it but by the looks of the video I'm sure
I could do it myself.
How to replace alternator on Suburban.

3:45pm
I checked on my potatoes.
Two bottom trays were done.
I started putting them into large canning jars
to keep any air out while storing them
and to keep the potatoes from breaking.

While making supper I started on a freezer breakfast-
French Toast Sticks.
I took a loaf of Texas toast and cut each slice into
3 strips.

In my mini blender I added 8 eggs, milk, cinnamon,
vanilla extract and a splash of caramel coffee creamer
and whirled together til combined.
Dip pieces of bread into egg and milk.
I then warmed up a large skillet with a dab of
butter and grilled the bread on both sides
and even the shorter sides.

Once done I'll put everything into zip
bags and put into the freezer.
Remove when needed and warm in microwave
a couple seconds. Serve with warmed syrup
in a small dipping cup.

It's not been a good day for me.
While removing pizza bread from the oven
and frying French toast in the skillet
I somehow managed to burn my hand on
one of the two.
This is one of those days I would
have been better off staying in bed!

6:30pm
Tony confirmed my diagnosis as to what I thought
was wrong with the truck.
We went out in the pouring down rain
and I showed him how to remove it
according to the video I watched.
He just left for the parts store to
hopefully find an $80 one to put
back on the truck. I don't think the
alternator had much life left in it
with all the ruckus it was making.
I'm just thankful we got to and from
Indian Lake this weekend!

Don't have enough tissue for all this snot!!
Been using napkins I've saved from fast food
joints and toilet paper which we are about out of.
I'm going to invent a necklace that has a bar
on it like a paper towel holder and put a roll
of toilet paper on it and reel it off as I need to blow
which seems like every 5 minutes!
25 minutes til Two and a Half Men.
Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Head is all stopped up. Blowing nose, sneezing,
when I cough it hurts. Tony still has what appears
to be a sinus problem with congestion, ears clogged
drippy nose and coughing. He says he's going to make
a doctor's appointment today.
The good news is Jonathan doesn't seem to be coughing
like he was and Christopher's nose stopped running.
I can't catch a break! If one ain't sick someone
else is. And to think Winter isn't far off to have
to worry about the really cold weather.
