8-5-12

11:00am

Today I'm working on laundry and going
through more things in the basement.
My saying is this,
It's easier to throw out things than it is to
find a place to store it all.
I'm trying at the moment to set up
designated areas for certain things.
-Holidays
-Mementos
-Kitchen supplies
-Seasonal clothing
-Blankets
-Books & Magazines
-Crafts
-3 to 4 large totes of Barbie stuff
I have collected over the years.
Once I can get these areas set up
then I think things will go a little easier for me
because right now they are all in my way,
some mixed with others.

2:00pm

4 loads of laundry almost done.
Got 5 boxes of stuff ready for the trash
and hauled up out of the basement.
Also decided that we won't be using
an over the stove microwave that's been
down there for 4.5 years!
Need to haul that out also.
Got some things moved around in
my storage room so I can try to add
a couple more tall bookcases.
This is what I want to use to store
blankets and seasonal clothes on.
Just going with the flow while I feel good.
I never know when to expect a Crohn's flare up
and it could happen at any time without warning.
I do have a digestive doctor check up
appointment this coming Wednesday.

 3:40pm

Still in the basement.
Got another box of crap hauled out.
Been working on clearing a space
to move a couple of bookcases into
my storage room.
The tow truck is supposed to come
sometime tomorrow to pick up my truck.
I am hoping they have the transmission
rebuilt in about a week and it'll be ready to go.
I really really need
my truck at the moment for hauling
all this crap outta here!
For the moment I'm gonna have to use
some of the carport area to store junk
boxes until I get my vehicle back.
So fair warning.  You come to my house,
don't use the driveway, use the front door for now!

11:20pm

Damien stopped by around 7pm with his girlfriend.
We decided to all go to the pool.
Before we left and I was walking out to
the car to put pool stuff in the trunk I noticed
three kids hanging out on the side street
that I had never seen before.  They looked
to be the ages of my boys maybe younger.
My one child even said he thought the
one kid went to his school.
I'm making several trips from the house
to the car watching these kids and notice
they go sit beside the neighbor's garage
behind our house.  It looks like they light
up a cigarette and are smoking it
and they are sitting on the ground facing the
direction of the backside of our house.
I didn't get a good feeling about them
and neither did Tony.  We really did not want
to leave but already had made plans to.
I tell Tony to get in his car parked by the side
fence and act like he was leaving and me
and the kids were staying home and told him
to go around the block and pick us up out front.
He yelled bye to me and I did to him so the
kids out back staring at us could hear us.
He left and I acted like I was doing something
in the yard then went in the house.
I wanted them to see that it looked like
someone was still home.
Well we should of went with our gut instinct
because that whole act didn't work.
We came home around 9?pm and found
the lock on our shed cut off and 2 bikes stolen.
The police left our house after doing a report just now.
Those kids were seen on the security camera
only 15 minutes after leaving making the first attempt
at using bolt cutters to cut the lock off the shed.
They did not enter the yard through the gate but
once again jumped the neighbors fence to get
into our yard.  It took them 6-8 times of messing
with that lock and getting spooked by something
before they finally cut it off.
A couple times they were so spooked the jumped
on the hood of our blue trans am
and hurled themselves over a 6 foot wooden fence!!
And of course someone in this household
didn't set the cheap alarm on the shed door.
I think if it was set and had gone off
it would have scared them off permanently.
It pisses me off and disgusts me to no end
to sit here and watch the recorded security
cameras to see it all take place.
I even found out that they cut off the lock
to the garage at the neighbor's house
behind us but didn't steal anything.
While I met the owners for the first time
today I don't think they live there just
yet.  Only stop in to work on the place.

I knew we should of just stayed home
tonight.  When your gut instinct tell you
something you better listen to it!
It's probably right.
Even the cop said to listen to your instinct.

Well while the bike criminals were not caught
the theft of my tomatoes has been solved, lol.
As the cop was walking around our backyard
in the dark with his flashlight he says,
is that a possum?  I said where?
He shines his light on him again and I say,
there's the little stinker that's been stealing my tomatoes.
He puts his hand to his side on his gun and says,
you want me to get 'em, LOL
I said yeah he's been stealing my tomatoes.
He was only kidding and we watched as the
possum slowly waddled around the fence
and into the alley area.

I told the cop that the thieves have been
coming into the yard over the chain link
fence and what can I do to keep them out.
I don't have money to buy more wooden
privacy fence to do that area of the yard with.
He told me if it were him he would put
barbed wire along the fence.
I said isn't that illegal?  I read online
that it was if you were intentionally setting
a trap to hurt someone even if it was a burgler
that it was and even the burgler could sue you.
He still made it sound like I should do
it so will consider it.
Might as well run it along the tops
of the privacy fence after seeing these
kids jumping over that this evening.
They even went as far as standing on top
of our trash can out by the side street, in the daylight ,
out in the open,
to look down to see what was beside the
fence and shed area!
How would they even know what was in that area
to look there.  You cannot see anything back there
from the backyard or side yard.
I think someone may have tipped them off
of where we keep things.

I asked the cop if I saw our bicycle what should
I do if someone is on it.
Can I just go knock them off to get it.
He said no don't knock them off it.
Just go up and grab and hold the bike
til they get off.  Yeah right I say,
if they are running around with bolt cutters
and breaking into places, then what's to
say they aren't carrying weapons on them.
Then he said I should call the police instead.

Hmmm, so I cannot knock them off MY stolen bicycle
which will do little damage to them
but I can put up barbed wire to keep them
out of my yard that will tear the hell out of them.
Just doesn't make sense.

I gotta go to bed.
I'm still wound up but gotta get some
sleep.  It's 12:21am.

Oh yeah, didn't expect my evening to turn out this way!

8-4-12

10:00am

Got breakfast/brunch frying in a skillet.
It's a throw together breakfast.
I sliced up about 4-5 potatoes and
put them in a skillet with a couple
tablespoons butter and
Italian dressing.  I then cut up smoked
sausage and add it in as well.
From there I started scouring the fridge and freezer
for any leftovers to put in our potato & sausage fry.
I found green bell peppers, onion powder,
1/2 of a beef master tomato, banana pepper juice
from a jar, chicken better than bouillion,
salt, pepper and a smidgen of maple syrup.
Then I was thinking about mixing in some
eggs and cheese once all fried up.

10:30am
Brunch is still cooking.
I think once we get done eating we're gonna
head to the thrift store to see if I can find
some bed risers so I can get the twin
waterbed drawers under the beds.
Was wanting to go to the scrap place this morning
but ended up with no time to cut up what little
scrap we had because Tony got paged out
this morning for a toilet clog.
12:45am
Well we managed a yard sale and a thrift store
before the pager went off.
Didn't find much.
Thrift store-
Tony got a car charger for his cell phone for .90 cents.
I got an Ohio Oddities book for .90 cents
Yard sale-
2 Ohio State ball caps.
One plays the
Ohio State fight song when you press the brim.
.25 cents each.
These hats got for $15 at Kroger.

6:15pm

It's been so hot out today.
Weather.com says it's 91 and feels like 98 degrees.
The air is as thick as pea soup
with the humidity.
Tony's been running back and forth to work
all day with emergency calls, mainly for
air conditioners.  We just recetnly went out
on a call then stopped by Kroger to
get our groceries.  By the time we got
back home the pager went off again.
Me and the kids stayed home so I could
put groceries away and throw some
frozen pizzas in the oven for supper.

7:30 to 9:30pm

Tony got back from his emergency call
and picked us all up to take the boys swimming.
I know we take the boys swimming a lot but
to me it's getting them lots of exercise.
Tony got yet another call while we were
at the pool.  So close to getting some rain tonight.
As I sat at the pool reading my book I could
see storm clouds to the NW of Columbus.
They never reached us.  Hopefully
tomorrow we'll get some rain to clear the air
from allergens.  Tony's been sneezing and my
eyes feel like sand is in them.

The Lambo was home tonight.
Still hard to believe someone owns one
of these at the apartment complex!
Is this bad ass or what?!

8-3-12

7:35am

Don't know what my problem is.
I was awake at 4:30am this morning.
Too early to be up watching the news, lol.
Oh yeah I'll pay the price for it later on.
Here in the next hour we'll be heading
out to catch a few yard sales.
Should've looked yesterday to see what the
temps were gonna be today before asking
everyone if they wanted to go.
It's supposed to be something like
96 degrees today with a heat index 100 degrees+.
YUCK!

12:30pm

Back from yard saling.
Here's some things I got-

large metal spiral plant stand. $1.00
Perfect for holding all my Hydrangea plants I have.
Or I might put potted Petunias on it next year.

A hat rack for all our ball caps and work hats. $2.00
Tony can never find his hats!

Rechargeable battery operated screw driver .50 cents.
Putting back for Tony for Christmas.

4 Disney glasses .25 cents each.
I already have two of these and they
are the perfect size and thickness of glass for kids!

Adidas tennis shoes for Jonathan $2.00.

A summer top for me .50 cents.
Plastic reusable cup was free.
Package of vent filters .25 cents.
Top secret recipes book .25 cents.

Nice hardbound cookbooks were .10 cents each!
I know I had bought more cookbooks
but I think mom took them home to browse through
because I also remember a Fix it and Forget it cookbook.

And I also got a tree trimmer for $1.00
No photo.
Needed something to trim the trees with
and to get the ropes down out of one
tree that we made a swing out of but
the rope has frayed and needs replaced.

1:45pm

Well I got laundry started and got
8 small cabinets moved around in the basement.
These cabinets used to be for my pantry.
I have since moved everything over to the
homemade shelves I built between the
studs along the one wall in the laundry room.
All 8 cabinets are now in the largest room
of the basement that will be used
for a play room and living room area.
I would like to make a seating and storage
area out of them along the back walls
on the one end of the basement.
Kinda like this but make them out
of the small kitchen cabinets like you find
above the stove or fridge that have doors on them.
I have foam mattress toppers that I could
cut up and use to make cushions out of
and cover with cheap flat bed sheets.

I have three flourescent double bulb
ceiling lights in this large room.
I thought about finding some
mirrors at Tony's work and making
them look like faux windows and to
help with reflecting the light more
so it doesn't look so dreary.

I still have a LONG ways to go with the
basement and getting it cleaned out,
organized, painted and getting carpet put in.
So right now I am only dreaming of some
things to do in there to get me motivated.

2:55pm

Got three boxes of stuff hauled out of the basement.
Not quite sure I know what to do with it
at the moment since I usually start packing
the Suburban up with everything that goes out
and the Suburban will probably go into the shop
next week.  Can't stop working on the basement
because of it though.

8:35pm

Toy Story 3 is on Disney channel.
Got it recording on the DVR.

Just got back from Groveport not long ago.
As far as I know someone will be coming
to tow my truck to Reynoldsburg on Monday.
Took everyone to McD's for a cheap supper.
Now my stomach feels bloated again.
I know I didn't eat much. We got the 4 McChicken
and fries deal along with 3 drinks (me and hubby share one)
and 3 sundaes.  I didn't eat all my fries
or sandwich and gave the rest to the kids.
I just have the feeling in my belly like
I'd gone to a buffet and overstuffed myself
when I didn't.

8-2-12

8:00am

Just got my bills done and in the mailbox.
I even got two more doctor bills
worth around $100 paid off
since I was $100 less than what
I usually pay for regular bills for the month.
Regular bills meaning
all utilities, house & credit card
which I pay a little more than what they ask
so I can try to get ahead on it instead
of paying only the interest with the minimum payment.
Don't use it anymore.  Only got it to
get our credit rating up when we bought our house.
Now trying to figure out where in the world
to come up with $850 to have my truck
towed next week to Reynoldsburg
to have the transmission rebuilt.
$50 is for towing which I hope I can
turn into my insurance company and
get reimbursed that money.
I have $180 stashed away that's left
from selling a scrap car.  Then I have
$58 from scrap metal.
Tony has another bucket of scrap metal
at work that we can take in this weekend.
Hoping that'll bring another $50
to bring my total to $258.
Then the balance of $542 will have to come
from his bonus.
Another plus I just realized was that there
will be three paychecks for the month of August
so that will help lots!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Today's freebies I sent away for-

Gotta love those freebies!
They make great stocking stuffers
or gift baskets.

----------------------------------------------------------------

9:45am

Breakfast is pancakes.
The  directions called for adding milk
so I added chocolate milk

and added in a teaspoon of vanilla, butter and nut
flavoring as well.
Then served with a vanilla spice syrup.
yummy.

4:50pm

Tony just called on his way home
from work to say that gas has gone up
to $3.89 a gallon.  This is getting crazy.
No one seems to know why it shot up.
Good thing the Suburban is out of commission
at the moment.

10:00pm

Back home.  Took the kids swimming for
a few then hung out for another few at
our friends til it was time to close the pools.
Me and Jonathan went walking around
the complex to see if we could find anything.
We found a snow shovel.  Left it at Tony's work
because we couldn't fit it in the car this evening
with all the swim stuff.  I'll get a photo later.
It's hard to describe or find a picture of one.
The blade is half circular is about all I can
say about it.  Never seen one before like it.
And we also found some flood/work lights
on a telescoping pole that works.
Had an offer of $10 bucks for them already.
Not sure if I'm selling them just yet.
I thought they would be useful to work on a
car with at night if need be.
Would love to somehow hook to a motion
sensor and see how many people attempt
to sneak in our backyard with these bad boys
shining on them, lol.

Heading to bed soon.  Taking mom and the
boys to some yard sales tomorrow morning.

8-1-12

7:50am

Didn't sleep well last night.
At 4:00am I was awake.  My legs started
getting that achy feeling again making it
uncomfortable to sleep so I got up and
took a couple Tylenol.  Didn't get back
to sleep til about 5:30am.
I didn't post much yesterday because
I can't shake the tiredness.
So here are some photos of
the cookout we had at the pool
at Tony's work with Damien and his girlfriend
and Tony's coworker.
Damien's girlfriend bought all the stuff
and Damien grilled up some hot dogs for everyone.

Stopped by Kroger before coming home
to get some of the things that I didn't
get Saturday evening when the bagger didn't
put the stuff in my cart.  Still can't find
my receipt though which pisses me off.
Before heading into Kroger I saw
these cool looking storm clouds
off in the distance.

Here's a couple freebies I got in the
mail the other day.
Fancy Feast canned cat food and
a Nescafe Memento Mocha coffee packet.

Still trying to figure out what to do about
our truck and the transmission.
We found someone who will do it on the side.
If we take out the transmission and take
it to have rebuilt and then pick it up,
bring it home and put it back in ourself
then it will cost $500.
But if we have someone remove it from the
truck and rebuild it and put it back in
then it's gonna cost $800.
Plus we have to pay $50 to have it towed there
which I hope we could get reimbursed
through our insurance company because
we have roadside assistance.

Yesterday Tony called an actual transmission place
to get a price quote and they said
to get it rebuilt would normally be $2000
but they must have a sale of some sort
and told him $1800 for a 4x4.

So much for Tony's bonus he's supposed
to get on his next paycheck because
I see $800 going towards getting our truck fixed.

9:30am

I discovered a Crohn's Disease group on Facebook
last night.  I've been doing nothing but reading
about everyone's experiences for the last
couple of hours.  It helps to know that you
are not alone with this disease and what
other people go through that are just like you
with all the pain.  While I know I have had
Crohn's for the past couple of years
due to constant diarrhea and 3 trips
to the ER for dehydration,
I was just diagnosed this year after many, many tests.
Even with my daily 2 doses of Lialda
I get flare ups about every couple of weeks
that could last for anywhere from a couple
days to a week or two each time.

10:00am

Just got done making a dessert that
I just threw together that sounded good.
Something that even Tony with diabetes
should be able to eat with the low sugar
and low fat.

Cheesecake Pudding Sandwiches

1 packet whipped topping
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Whip up in medium sized bowl and then place bowl in refrigerator.

In food processor add
8 ounces of cream cheese cut into cubes
(can use fat free),
1 small box sugar free cheesecake pudding mix,
1 cup milk,
3-4 packets Splenda,
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice.

Combine everything together in food processor.
Remove bowl of whipped topping from fridge
and fold in the cream cheese pudding mix.

In a large casserole dish place chocolate
graham crackers into bottom.
Spoon cream cheese cheesecake evenly over top.
Then add another layer of chocalet
graham crackers on top.
Place in freezer til frozen.
Cut along graham cracker sides and into "ice cream" sandwiches.
If you want to make square bars instead of
rectangle ones break graham crackers in half
before putting into casserole dish.

Still so tired and are thinking about
laying back down.  It seems once I stopped
taking the antibiotics the same Crohn's symptoms
are creeping back up.

Lunch was BLT grilled cheese with
cheesecake pudding sandwiches.

Here is another freebie I got today in the mail.
U by Kotex liner, pad and tampon
along with pretty carrying case.

For supper I'm
frying up the remaining bacon leftover
from lunch and making bacon gravy with it
and putting it over toast and having
with sausage grillers.
Instead of the teaspoon of sugar the recipe
calls for I'm using sugar-free maple syrup.
I'll probably regret eating it later on.

5:10pm

Every time I get a moment I've been reading
what people have been writing about their
Crohn's experiences on one Facebook group
called Crohn's Disease.
I along with many others agree that the commercial you see
on tv for Crohn's is way understated.
It's so much more than running to the bathroom.
This group would be great for friends and family
of those who do have it to get a better
understanding at what it is and what people
go through with this disease.

5:15pm

My honey brought me home two new bottles of
stir-fry sauce and a bottle of caramel syrup
that he found in an apartment today.

6:15pm

Just popped two more tylenol.
I haven't taken any more since about
4:00am this morning.
We have to go close three pools
and it sucks being out and about
and getting pain and having no tylenol on hand.
